East Vancouver Bathroom Renovation

This East Vancouver bathroom renovation involves a typical guest bathroom in a modest East Vancouver condo complex. It is a typical example of what can be done in a relatively compact space. The finishing is considered medium/ high-end.

Demo:

This East Vancouver bathroom renovation started with the removal of all fixtures and finishes as well as the drywall surrounding the tub.

New Floating Vanity & Fixtures

The floating vanity that was installed is a Godmorgon cabinet from IKEA. SKG instals these cabinets routinely because of they are beautiful, but also well built and relatively inexpensive. We installed a custom London Grey Caesarstone countertop on this vanity with a Acritec sink, and a Moen faucet. The vanity light was a Moen as well, from the same product line, all with a brushed nickel finish.

New Porcelain Tile Flooring

The old linoleum flooring was removed and a crack isolation membrane installed over the cracked concrete sub-floor. 2' x 4' porcelain floor tiles were then installed and grouted with a water resistant grout.

New Bathtub & Shower wall tile

The old steel bathtub was replaced with a deep acrylic soaker tub by Acritec. The tub walls and tub skirt were lined with a water proofing membrane by Schluter Systems, and tiled with a 4" x 16" ceramic tile, with stainless steel metal edge trim that matched the brushed nickel finish. Instead of a more traditional tiled shower niche, a stainless steel shower niche by Redblock Industries was installed. This niche was chosen because it was more economical than a tiled niche, bonded easily to the membrane, and was a very close match to the brushed nickel fixture finish.
