A beautiful and efficient East Vancouver Kitchen Renovation
This East Vancouver kitchen renovation involved the removal of a partition wall that separated the kitchen from the dining / living room area. The homeowners wanted to open the space up and create an eating bar on the living room side of their new kitchen. SKG accomplished that by creating a modern, compact and very efficient new kitchen space.
The most dramatic feature of this East Vancouver kitchen renovation is the new Caesarstone countertop. Â A new 10″ deep single bowl, low radius, under-mount sink and pullout faucet compliment it’s surface. Another bold feature is the parallam structural support beam installed at the top of the wall section that was removed. Although not structurally necessary, it was installed to reduce “flex” and to fortify the floor above. Another great new feature of this kitchen is the pocket door at the end of the kitchen which allows access to the laundry nook. The new pocket door replaced the previous single hung door which always blocked access to the kitchen cabinets when it was open. The new base cabinets include three sets of drawers to maximize storage. Also installed was a 24″ wide, 92″ high pantry cabinet, that takes advantage of all the remaining wall space on the partition wall. This further maximizes the storage capacity of this compact kitchen. The black-brown finish of the cabinet doors and drawers contrasts beautifully with the stainless steel appliances. The appliances include a 30″ range with glass cooktop, a 24″ dishwasher, 34″ fridge and fan/ microwave combination. A extra long track light system was installed to replace a dated and broken fluorescent fixture. LED track heads placed at key locations ensures that no section of the counter surface nor any cabinet interior will be without plenty of light.
